HP Business Inkjet 9800 Printer

The HP Business DeskJet 9800 is a wide format printer that provides professional, higher end, large prints, at a relatively lower price. It is distinguished from the 9800d by its lack of double sided printing and a price of $100 less. The DeskJet 9800 is PC and MAC compatible and can print 4,800 x 1,200 dpi photo prints at sizes up to 13 x 19 and on oversized, heavy media like card stock and heavy envelopes. It has 4 color printing with 2 ink cartridges: HP 94 Black with Vivera Ink and HP 95 Tri-Color with Vivera Ink (so after one color depletes the whole cartridge is thrown out, making it possibly more expensive). There is also an option for replacing the black with HP 99 Photo Ink for 6 color photo printing or HP 100 Grey for monochrome photo printing. The negatives of the printer are minor issues with performance: the printing quality is acceptably average and the printing is relatively slow at around 4 minutes for an 8 x 10 photo at high quality. Overall, however, the DeskJet 9800 is solid buy for its price and home businesses and adventurous photo enthusiasts would find it adequate for the cost.
