The prints are of great quality when it comes to text and graphics, which come out vivid, sharp and crisp. Photos are merely good with minor tone errors, and overall lack of saturation. The DeskJet 990cse also has a duplexer for automatic 2 sided printing and infrared reading features. Ink wise, the DeskJet 990cse uses a 2 inkjet cartridge system with 4 colors (HP 45 Black Inkjet and HP 23 Tricolor Inkjet), but you must note however that since they’re not individual cartridges they are less efficient and might cost more in the long run. The print speeds are on the speedier side with an average 17 pages per minute. While reliable and simple the higher price should have warranted a few more features. Overall, if you put a high premium on dependability and quality and have the money to spend, this is a worthwhile printer.
