The HP Color Inkjet cp1700 is a higher end wide format photo printer for businesses and small offices looking for professional quality text and color graphic printing. The PC and MAC compatible cp1700 offers presentation quality text, graphics, and photo prints of up to 2,400 x 1,200 dpi resolution. There is however a slight tendency for washed out photo colors from time to time. The cp1700 also allows for printing on a variety of printing surfaces from matte to cardboard up to 13 x 19 inches. The printing speeds are mediocre, with an average top speed of 14 pages per minute. The cp1700 uses a 4 individual color ink cartridge system with (HP 10 Black, HP 11 Cyan, HP 11 Magenta, HP 11 Yellow ink cartridges). The use of individual ink cartridges leads to better ink efficiency and cost effectiveness.
