HP PSC 1510 All-In-One Printer

The HP PSC 1510 All-in-One is a multifunction printer is a marked improvement over the PSC 1410 and still offers an unbeatable price on a multifunction. The PC and MAC compatible PSC 1510, scans and copies at a solid 48 bit with 1,200 x 600 dpi resolution. The color printing is at a max 4,800 x 1,200 optimized dpi while black and white is at 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, both are adequate. The prints were of good quality, especially for a printer of this price. Text and graphics were crisp and sharp enough for school and small projects but below business presentation quality, while pictures were good enough for casual shots. The printing and copying were relatively speedy at a max average of 20 pages per minute black and 18 pages per minute color. The printer uses a 2 ink cartridge system with 4 colors (HP 92 Black Vivera Ink and HP 93 Vivera Tricolor Ink) but the black can be manually replaced with a photo ink cartridge (HP 99 Vivera Photo Ink) for six colors. One thing to note however, since they’re not individual ink cartridges they are less efficient and might cost more in the long run. There is also the nice addition of a PictBridge port for directly connecting your digital camera, but no memory card slots. Overall, the PSC 1410 is a great multifunction solution that is worth considering for more price minded homes and families.
