HP PSC 2355 All-In-One Printer

The HP PSC 2355 All-in-One is a decent multifunction printer that offers good performance and reasonable value to home and small business users. The HP 2355 is a minor upgrade of the 2350. It is PC and MAC compatible and scans/copies at a 48 bit, 1,200 max optimized dpi resolution. The color printing is at a max 4,800 x 1,200 optimized dpi while black and white is at 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, both of which are on par. The text and graphics print at a high quality with sharp and concise lines; the photos are of average quality with occasional errors and muted colors. The scanning and copying however are still below average with frequently washed out and muted scans. Printing is the only real hardware improvement with a swift max average of 20 pages per minute. The PSC 2355 still has the 1.8 inch color LCD screen which works with the memory card slots and the direct to digital camera PictBridge port, to allow you to select, edit, and print photos computer free. The printer uses a 2 ink cartridge system with 4 colors (HP 94 Black Vivera Ink and HP 95 Vivera Tricolor Ink) but the black can be manually replaced with a photo ink cartridge (HP 99 Vivera Photo Ink) for six colors and higher photo quality. However, since they’re not individual cartridges they are less efficient and might cost more in the long run. Overall, the PSC 2355 is only a minor improvement over the original and at an extra $20 the original seems like a better deal. However I you really need the speed and don’t need high quality scanning, the PSC 2355 is a worthwhile multifunction to consider.
