Lexmark P315 Inkjet Printer

The Lexmark P315 is an inkjet photo printer with a premium on convenience and portability. The main strengths of the P315 are its small size and ease of use, but it there is a slight decline of overall print quality. The less than 5 pound lunch box shaped printer actually doesn’t connect to a computer at all and offers exclusive standalone printing via its PictBridge ports for directly connecting to your digital camera, memory card slots, and a 2.5 inch color LCD screen for viewing and editing. The P315 prints up to 4 x 6 inch color photos with a max 4,800 x 1,200 dpi resolution with good, vivid, photo quality. The printing is done at a sluggish two and a half minute average for a 4 x 6 print. Another negative is the slow drying time and lack of water resistance of finished prints. Unfortunately the P315 also doesn’t come with a battery adaptor option, which hinders its portability a bit. The printer uses a single Tri-color ink cartridge (33 / 18C0033) at a relatively efficient rate. Overall, the P315 lacks a bit in performance but its attractive price and ease of use make it a buy to consider for some individuals, particularly those without computers.
