The Lexmark P915 is a fairly mediocre inkjet printer with a generous plate of features for the budget conscious family or student. PC and MAC compatible, the P915 offers passable text, graphics, and photo printing at a resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi. While okay viewed from a distance, closer inspection reveals poor ink control and muddy colors not suitable presentations or business. The ink also is slow drying and smudges easily. The P915 allows for computer free printing through its PictBridge port for direct connecting to your digital camera, slots for all major memory cards, and a 2.5 inch color LCD screen is also handy for computer free selecting and editing. These features are quite impressive for a sub $100 printer. Despite the lacking in print quality, the printing speed is swift with an average top speed of 20 pages per minute. The printer uses 6 colors through 2 cartridges: Tri-color ink cartridge (33 / 18C0033) and Tri-color photo ink (31 / 18C0031). The black ink cartridge (32 / 18C0032) is also swappable. The lack of individual ink thanks however might cost more in the long run. Overall the P915 fits a lot of features for the price and if you value quantity over quality it’s something to consider.
