Lexmark Z55se Inkjet Printer

The Lexmark Z55se is a budget priced inkjet printer for the casual user family or student. PC and MAC compatible, the Z55se offers adequate text but offers poor graphics and photo quality with frequent banding, under saturation, and color errors. This is disappointing despite its printing resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi. Although its design is simple and easy to use, a PictBridge port or memory card slot would have been appreciated. The Z55se actually prints at an impressive average top speed of 22 pages per minute and uses a black cartridge (18L0032) and a tricolor (18L0042). Be wary however, since non individual ink cartridges are more inefficient and the machine’s tendency to burn through ink will lead to higher costs in the long run. Overall, the Z55se might offer a low price but that will quickly be negated by sub par print quality and deceptively high future ink costs.
