Lexmark Z615 Inkjet Printer

The Lexmark Z615 is a slight improvement on the Lexmark Z515 (although how much can you really improve on a budget $40 printer?). With only a ten dollar price increase, the Z615 is a step forward in some aspects and backward in others. The PC and Mac compatible Z615 prints at a resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 optimized dpi however text, graphic, and photo printing actually seems to either stay the same or decline in the most part from the Z515. This leads to a mediocre production throughout. One improvement however is the speed which tops out at an average of 12 pages per minute, not actually speedy but adequate. The Z615’s simple two color ink cartridge non individual system of tricolor (26 / 10N0026) and black (16 / 10N0016) is also inefficient and might lead to higher costs in the long run. Overall, the amazing price and the above average performance might warrant a consideration but if you’re looking for an extremely budget prices inkjet the Z515 might be a better buy.
