Lexmark Z65 Inkjet Printer

The Lexmark Z65 is a budget priced inkjet printer aimed at the casual user family or student. PC and MAC compatible, the Z65 offers a high printing resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi but output was average at best. While text was adequate with a few minor errors, the graphics and photo quality were sub par with frequent color and tone matching problems and banding. Although simple in design and ease of use, a PictBridge port or memory card slot would have been appreciated. The Z65 actually prints at an impressive average top speed of 21 pages per minute and uses a black ink cartridge (18L0032) and a tricolor (18L0042). Be wary however, since non individual ink cartridges are more inefficient and the machine’s tendency to burn through ink will lead to higher costs in the long run. Overall, the Z65 might offer an attractive price but lack of performance and long term ink costs doesn’t make this printer worth the buy.
