Xerox Releases New ColorQube® Models
A few weeks ago we reported that Xerox had announced the forthcoming availability of two new series of printers from their popular and successful ColorQube® line. Yesterday, Xerox officially announced that the units had come to market and are available for purchase in North America.
The newest ColorQube 8700 and 8900 Multifunction Printers are, according to Xerox, the first letter-sized devices intended for workgroup productivity on the desktop. One of the most important features of these new units is the incorporation with Xerox’s ConnectKey technology which adds enhanced security and intuitive solutions to meet the demands of today’s mobile workforce. Additionally, being ColorQube units, they work with Xerox’s patented Solid Ink technology which benefits the environment and helps to keep costs down.
For anyone that has previously owned a printer from a previous generation of the 8700 or 8900 line, Xerox is offering a free download of their ConnectKey solution through a firmware upgrade. Users do not have to purchase any additional hardware to upgrade their current printers either.
Xerox reports that themselves and the ColorQube 8900 will be featured at the Photizo Transform 2013 Managed Print Services conference. During the conference, Xerox will provide mobile printing for all conference attendees.
Last week Xerox was pleased to announce that they had garnered yet another recognition of their work in managed print services (MPS). Earlier in 2013, Xerox was recognized by Quocirca (May 2013) for the fourth consecutive year and IDC Marketscape (July 2013). Now Xerox can add Gartner and its Leaders Quadrant for MPS to that list of accomplishments for 2013.
Mike Feldman, president, Large Enterprise Operations, Xerox, stated, “‘As the current worldwide leader for MPS, Xerox is well positioned to continue its strong hold on the marketplace. Our MPS framework is based on three important phases: assess and optimize; secure and integrate; and automate and simplify. This proven methodology has worked with thousands of clients because we uniquely deliver value and differentiation in each phase.’”
The depth and breadth of services offered under the MPS umbrella is due to the combination of technology and document management along with their business process and IT outsourcing. Further details can be found on the Xerox Newsroom website.
