Canon followed up their first announcement from January 7 about two new imageCLASS printers by unveiling four new models in their ever-popular PIXMA line. The four new units include the PIXMA MX922, MX522, MX452 Wireless Office AIO Printers as well as the PIXMA MX392 Office AIO. The OEM notes that all four machines are designed to provide both a flexible and quality printing experience for those who use them.

Paper handling on all four devices is very solid and will help offices or individual users to remain as productive as possible. For example, the PIXMA MX922 has two separate, front cassette trays which means users can keep two different types of media in the printer at all times. The larger tray can accommodate up to 250 sheets of either letter or legal-sized paper. The other tray can serve as a dedicated photo tray capable of holding up to 20 sheets of 4x6” or 10 sheets of 5x7” photo paper. All four units are equipped with automatic document feeders for added convenience. On the PIXMA MX922, the ADF is rated for up to 35 sheets and on the MX522, MX452, and MX392, for 30 sheets. Additionally, the MX922 printer is ideally suited for text-heavy printing environments with its high-yield black cartridges.

As users have continued to become increasingly mobile, OEM vendors have continued to keep pace. The latest models from Canon are no different. The PIXMA MX922 and MX522 Wireless Office AIO models feature compatibility with Google Cloud Print which enables users to print both images and documents from Gmail and Google Docs/Drive via mobile devices and Google Chrome from Mac, Windows, and other Chrome supported devices. Both models also work seamlessly with Canon’s Easy-PhotoPrint (Canon EPP) which is a free app for the wireless print photos and scan documents from both iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Additionally, a PictBridge connection for LAN and Wireless LAN allows the printers to be linked to some of the latest Canon wireless-enabled cameras like the PowerShot N and PowerShot ELPH 130 IS and print photos.

Users of Evernote can also rejoice as all four models are designed to work with the cloud-based system for note-taking, idea sharing, and much more and sync the information across devices. Via the compatible Canon units, documents and papers can be scanned into users’ Evernote accounts either via a wireless or USB connection.

In addition to the aforementioned tools designed to maximize productivity, Canon has not forgotten about tools for creative users. All four of the new models are designed to work with Canon’s My Image Garden software and Full HD Movie Print for grabbing still shots from select Canon digital cameras and camcorders. Users can also take advantage of photo customization with an array of Fun Filter Effects like Fish-Eye and Toy Camera. Each printer model also has a suite of post-editing tools and effects including Automatic Selection which Canon says will make it possible to sync photos to a folder to display them in a slide show to make users aware of all photos.
