We recently posted an entry, regarding the new partnership between Samsung, OfficeMax, Office Depot, and Staples. To find out a few more details about how this came about, and we were granted the opportunity to speak with Lydia Cho, Channel Manager at Samsung Electronics. Below is the transcript of our interview which was conducted via email.
1)What prompted Samsung to make the move to selling their printers in "big box" office supply stores?
2)Obviously Office Depot, OfficeMax, and Staples are three of the biggest retailers, can you tell us if there are any plans to move beyond these stores at any time in the future?
3)Samsung has garnered a lot of recognition for their products over the past few years with their innovative technology. How and who decided which products would go to which stores, as it would seem to benefit them to be able to offer the full Samsung line??
4)Is there a particular client base Samsung is trying to appeal to with this maneuver, and will Samsung employees be stationed in the stores to answer questions from time to time?
5)With the new in-store purchase, does that change any of the existing support or warranty structures Samsung had in place from their website? Also, will there be any type of promotional or other pricing for the products that will differ from ordering direct from Samsung.com
