Ricoh Document Services Support Kansas City Chiefs

A press release issued earlier this week by Ricoh Americas Corporation said the company was now entering its third year as the lone document services provider of the Kansas City Chiefs football team of the National Football League (NFL).
As part of their partnership, Ricoh helps the Chiefs reach high levels of information mobility giving the information needed to the right people at the right time and in the right format. Bob Stirton, Director of IT for the Chiefs said, “‘ They sit down with us quarterly, review metrics and discuss ideas to help us improve performance in many ways. They also show up several hours early on game day to provide support for some very busy machines sprinkled throughout Arrowhead Stadium.’”
Working with the coaching staff, Ricoh provides full-color copies of playbooks in addition to the digital iPad playbooks they use. They also work the media in the press box to provide printouts of the play-by-play statistics after each quarter of play is concluded. Other people in the Chiefs organization get printed copies of food orders, receipts, ticket summaries, and other reports. All of these tasks are handled by a fleet that includes over 150 office printers, multifunction products, and production-level printers.
In addition to these types of services, Ricoh has also aided the Chiefs in improving internal workflow by assisting in the upgrade of their intranet including the latest version of Microsoft SharePoint. The dynamic home page for the service takes care of synthesizing important information from around the organization as well as the NFL at large.
Down the road, Ricoh will incorporate a new automated travel-and-expense workflow system that will make it easier to submit receipts and get approvals. The process which has taken as long as 35 days previously, will be shortened into a 24-hour turnaround. Additionally, Ricoh will incorporate an accounts payable workflow which will also save time and money and generate better cash flow. As part of the contract, Ricoh provides the Chiefs with frequent usage analytics which are used to further optimize and improve information workflows.Tim Vellek, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation said, “‘The new world of work definitely extends to professional football.
