Samsung Electronics Launches Three New Document Imaging Solutions
March 24, 2016
Earlier this week, Samsung Electronics announced the first fruits of its strategic partnership with Nuance Communications which was established in September 2015. In total there are three new document imaging solutions now available with its printing business: Equitrac, Autostore, and SafeCom.
Equitrac, which is available in both an Office and Express Version, is a print management solution that enables businesses to print what they need from wherever they are. Documents are sent to identified nearby devices via a pull-printing system. Further, Equitrac helps lessen IT complexities by eliminating dependencies on printer servers, print drivers, and complex print fleets.
The second option, Autostore, is an electronic document capture solution which can automatically identify and store various types of user documents including PDFs as well as information captured using MFPs, smartphones, copiers, and scanners.
The third and final option, SafeCom, assists with the consolidation and standardization of print jobs, also without the need to install additional drivers or software. Further, it can reduce printer budgets by restricting printer access to a specific set of users.
According to Chris Strammiello, Vice President of Global Alliances & Strategic Marketing for Nuance Communications, "Nuance has long enjoyed a strong relationship with Samsung and extending the partnership to our imaging solutions is strategic for both companies. We look forward to bringing innovative solutions to market that address the business needs of our joint customers."
David SW Song, Senior Vice President of Printing Solutions Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, "Samsung is continuing to expand cooperation with the world?s leading vendors to develop software offering specialized and customized solutions to improve workflow,? said David SW Song, Senior Vice President of Printing Solutions Business at Samsung Electronics. ?B2B customers will be able to purchase solutions and services optimized for their business directly with Samsung printing devices."
For those not familiar with Nuance, they are a global leader in output solutions and were ranked as the larges imaging software in the document/MFP space. In a 2015 report, IDC found that Nuance held 58% of the global market share in this industry. They have previously partnered with Samsung to provide voice recognition capabilities across a range of Samsung devices.
