An Interview with Ilya Shnayder, Samsung
May 9, 2014
We originally spoke to Ilya Shnayder, Printer Channel Marketing Manager at Samsung, back in November 2013 when the company released the industry's first set of near field communication (NFC)-enabled printers. Recently their second set of devices came to market, so we wanted to check in and see what, if anything was different or new about the technology. The transcript of the email interview is below:
1)When we last spoke in November, you had mentioned that more business-oriented NFC models would be coming in the new year. Are these those models?
2)What has been the reaction of the global business climate to your NFC-enabled devices? Are they selling about at the rate you were expecting or a bit faster?
3) Is there anything different about these new models that was adjusted from the first ones released last year?
4) We have seen that after you revealed your NFC-enabled devices, other vendors followed suit. Does it mean a lot to your company that you were seemingly the first to get products like these to the market?
5) Do you anticipate any more roll-outs of NFC-enabled printers for the rest of 2014, and if so, how would they differ or be similar in form and function to what has come out?
