HP Announces New Printers Among Other Things
September 15, 2015
Late last week on Sept. 10, HP announced series of LaserJet printers aimed at SMB environments. According to the company, a recently commissioned survey of 750 IT decision makers and business managers revealed that most important technology concerns for SMBs include finding ways to boost productivity, solving security threats, and managing IT costs. The latest LaserJet Pro devices and new PCs also release by HP were designed with this in mind.
Christoph Schell, senior vice president of HP Printing and Personal Systems, Americas, said "Customers have shared with us their challenges around making important technology decisions with limited budgets and IT resources that impact the security and productivity of their business. HP offers customers support and access to commercial-grade solutions like the new HP Pro Series of PCs and printers, providing them with the business-ready capabilities they need at a price point they can afford."
As with basically all businesses today, notes HP, SMBs "face a rapidly evolving environment where technology is used as a competitive asset". With less clear separation between personal and work life, businesses are also grappling with ways to attract and maintain a workforce that is becoming more millennial and increase options for mobile and collaborative workstyles. Due to this, SMBs require technology that makes it simple to connect various mobile devices and work without being tied to wires or other special equipment.
New printers feature fastest real world print speeds
The new HP LaserJet 400 series printers and MFPs give users the speed and efficiency to allow businesses to work at their best with the fastest first page out, fastest two-sided printing, and lowest energy consumption of any printer in their class. With these latest units, HP is committed to continuing their efforts to provide customers a secure print environment from the moment a printer is turned on to the moment it is powered down by included features such as job storage with PIN Printing. The company says these new units are perfect for small work teams comprised of 3-10 members printing up to 4,000 pages each month.
The new printers include the following:
Each of the new 400-series of printers offer built-in mobile printing support including wireless direct printing, Near Field Communication (NFC) touch-to-print, and cloud-based pull printing with HP JetAdvantage Private Print. Additionally, the latest iteration of HP Original Toner cartridges with JetIntelligence now includes precision black toner. Precision black toner ensures accurate toner placement with monochrome printing, providing more pages from each cartridge.
For those SMBs who print much less and may not require laser printing, HP also recently announced an expansion of their Instant Ink enabled devices including the office-centric HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One. The Instant Ink service is a monthly fee-based program that automatically re-orders ink and ships it directly to customers without their need to go to a physical store to pick it up.
Pricing and availability
All of the new HP LaserJet printers are set to become available beginning in October 2015. The HP LaserJet Pro M402 series will be available beginning at $269, LaserJet Pro M452 series for $399, the LaserJet Pro M426 for $449, and the LaserJet Pro MFP M477 series for $529.
