January 8, 2016
Earlier we reported that MCor Technologies brought an a new, innovative and disruptive product to show off at CES 2016 currently being held this week in Las Vegas, NV. The company on Wednesday was also pleased to reported that they were selected as a Best of Innovation Awards Honoree in the 3D Printing Product Category. These awards are given out based on the engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended function, user value and market differentiators. Further, those honored have received the highest scores in their respective product categories and are considered to have the most impressive technology according to the press release. Finally, those honored with the “Best of Innovation” title signifies the product’s innovative design and engineering among other technology products.
As is reflected in our first article, the Mcor ARKe is coming to market as what Mcor is calling “the world’s first full-color desktop 3D printer ”. Its printing technology allows for high resolution printing of 4800 x 2400 dpi, making it the highest available on the market today. In addition to its amazing resolution, it should be noted that ARKe is also an eco-friendly solution that requires no additional ventilation for use, broadening the appeal to a variety of industries including classroom education. To print and mold designs, it uses a new adhesive deposition technique which not only speeds printing, but also allows for more intricate and complex designs. Mcor says that this printer is engineered to bridge the current gap between the creative and engineering end user markets. Users of the device can also customize the build cover to a color/design of their choice from among several options.
Dr. Conor MacCormack, Co-founder and CEO of Mcor Technologies Ltd said, “We are thrilled that our new product, Mcor ARKe, is taking home the top prize in the 3D printing category. It is an honor to be named a CES Best of Innovation Awards Honoree, and serves as a huge point of validation for all of the incredible work we’ve seen from the Mcor team throughout the development process. We believe our newest product will be an industry disruptor with its unique full-color desktop capabilities, and are excited to be recognized as leaders in the 3D printing industry.”
All of the products entered into the Best of Innovation awards are examined by a “preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 27 product categories”. They are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™, who is the annual producer of CES.
