HP Launches New DesignJet Contest
May 5, 2016
While we spend the majority of time in our blog discussing standard format printing (letter, legal, and in some cases, tabloid), that is but one piece of the printing industry. For those in architecture, engineering, design, manufacturing, and more, they rely on wide or large-format printing to get their work done. That said, for the last 25 years HP DesignJet printers have been with users in those fields every step of the way, growing and evolving as changes have occurred. Recently, we covered a great example of how HP DesignJet technology was helping NJ Search and Rescue in their daily operations. And that is just one of many examples of how this technology benefits those that need it.
The first HP DesignJet printer made its debut in 1991, a quarter of a century ago. Since then, the technology has been helping businesses that need larger format output get their work done in a timely and efficient manner. The original unit was monochrome only, but over time HP was able to introduce high-quality color printing into the DesignJet portfolio along with increased speeds and applications. As it stands today, HP says there are over 3 million DesignJet printers that are installed and in use around the globe today. The company says it is "committed to innovation and maintaining open collaboration with its customers to not only create solutions for them, but with them". HP notes that DesignJet printers are built upon a firm foundation of thorough research and development, refined and improved over decades with each new product, each improving over previous models.
Todd Cromwell, vice president, Americas GSB Large Format, HP Inc. states, "This year HP DesignJet celebrates 25 years and continues to set the benchmark for reliable printing solutions, fast speeds and high-quality output. We’re committed to continually pioneering new technologies to meet the evolving needs of graphic designers, architects, engineers and construction professionals and helping customers work where and how they want to."
As part of their celebration of the 25 years of DesignJet printers, HP is inviting their DesignJet customers to enter into the "Me and My DesignJet" sweepstakes. From May 2 through July 31, 2016, those who own a DesignJet model can visit www.hp.com/go/mydesignjet to enter into a random drawing. Better yet, the first 450 U.S. residents will earn a $25 gift card for the HP.com store just for entering. The grand prize winner in the United States will receive an HP DesignJet T830 Multifunction Printer and five more U.S. winners will each win an DesignJet T120 Printer. To be eligible, participants must own an HP DesignJet printer as of May 2, 2016.
